In this talk, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/joanaranito\/\"><strong>Joana Ranito<\/strong> <\/a>shares her journey \u2014 from early work in <em>digital design<\/em> and UX\/UI to her specialization in multi-script type design and font engineering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawing from her training at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/ready-to-study\/study\/subject-area\/typography-and-graphic-communication-pg\/ma-typeface-design\">University of Reading<\/a> and her professional experience at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.daltonmaag.com\">Dalton Maag<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/universalthirst.com\">Universal Thirst<\/a>, Joana offers an inside look at the processes, challenges, and decision-making behind developing complex multi-script typefaces, with a particular focus on the <strong>Bengali<\/strong> writing system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The session includes in-depth discussions of two major case studies: the redesign of <strong>Noto Sans Bengali<\/strong> and her MATD project <strong>Curiosa<\/strong>.
